The short version

  • A vendor’s live location is shared only after they tap “Go Live”, and only their latest position is kept. No movement history.
  • Card payments for vendor plans are handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
  • You can download your data or delete your account anytime from Profile.

1. What we collect

Account: your name, email and password (stored only as a secure hash). Optional preferences such as language, favorite food categories, dietary preferences and notification settings.

Activity: vendors you save, follow or put in collections, vendors you recently viewed, reviews you write, Foodie Passport check-ins, reports you submit and vendor suggestions you send us.

Vendors: business details you enter (name, menu, hours, photos, payment methods, public phone and links), your usual selling spot and scheduled stops, and subscription status from Stripe.

Device: if you turn on notifications, a push address for your device so we can deliver them.

2. How we use it

To run the app: show vendors near you, keep your saved lists, send the notifications you chose and let vendors manage their listing.

To keep the community safe: we check reviews, reports and check-ins for abuse, apply rate limits and keep a log of admin actions.

Vendors see only aggregated daily counts (such as profile views and new followers). They never see who individual customers are or where they went.

We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t show third-party ads.

3. Your location

Customers: your device location is used to show nearby vendors and to confirm Passport check-ins (within about 200 m). We don’t store your position with your check-ins. Arrival alerts are saved only as a rough area of about 5 km.

Vendors: your location is shared only after you tap “Go Live” and agree. We keep only your latest position, never a history. Sharing stops automatically after the time you choose, and “Pause My Location” removes your marker from every map immediately.

Approximate mode shows customers an area of about 100 m instead of your exact spot. Home addresses are private by default and never shown on the map.

Vendor Safety Network reports are shown to other vendors only as a general area of about 1 km, are never shown with your name to vendors or admins, and are deleted after 7 days.

4. Who we share it with

Service providers that run the app for us: our database and hosting provider, Stripe for vendor payments, our email provider for password reset emails, and our map tile provider (which sees the map area your device loads).

We may share information when the law requires it.

5. Your choices

In Profile you can change notification settings, download a copy of your data, and permanently delete your account. Deleting your account removes your profile, favorites, reviews and check-ins. Businesses you own are archived and hidden.

You can turn off location access in your device settings at any time. Some features, like finding vendors near you, won’t work without it.
